D-mannose is a naturally occuring monosaccharide of the aldohexose series of carbohydrates.
D-mannose is one of the eight essential glyconutrients a human body requires by synthesizing glucose. D-mannose is available from natural, non-animal sources in its purest form, not as complex forms found in some plant sources (i.e. beta-mannans in Aloe Vera practically indigestible, with a questionable effect in the diet).
